Hello Fellow Gallopers,
Hope you all had a great weekend.
It’s been a while since I’ve written to you guys and that’s because I have been busy with a few Corporate projects and I also took some time out to contemplate 🙂
But in the midst of all that has been going on, I did manage to take some time out and visit the Butterfly and Insect World in Edinburgh. The first thing that hits you when you enter Butterfly World is the heat – the temperature is maintained to simulate the Tropics so the species of butterflies, insects, reptiles and plants feel at home. Coming from close to the Tropics myself, I should have felt quite at home but it did get a bit stuffy at times.
A large variety of butterflies are housed at Butterfly World in addition to a large number of reptiles (more on the reptiles in my next blog!!). One gets a unique opportunity to see butterflies at every stage of their natural life cycle – egg, larva, pupa and adult – while in their natural habitat. I have tried to capture the beauty of these colourful butterflies as they go about their normal daily routine.
