Hello Fellow Gallopers,
The sun rises earlier and sets later; the days are so much brighter; the songs of birds are more audible in the air; fresh green leaves have started sprouting from barren branches; the myriad coloured flowers with bees hovering over them have become part of the landscape – Spring has well and truely sprung upon us.
Spring conjures up images of renewal and regrowth in one’s mind – the hope of New Beginnings. I spent quite sometime at the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, where most of these images were taken, taking in the sights and sounds of this beautiful time of year. The Botanic Garden in Edinburgh was established in 1670 and the four Gardens that come under its wing represent one of the world’s largest living collection of plants.
Walking through the Gardens you are reminded of the variety and beauty of plant life that covers our planet and the vital place it holds in our eco-system.
