Hello Fellow Gallopers,
Ok. Let’s try to put this climb of mine in perspective and see where it stands in the grand scheme of things. Time for some numbers:
- Scald Law – the highest of the Pentland Hills peaks at a height of 579m (1899ft)
- Ben Ledi – peaks at a height of 879m (2884ft)
- Ben Nevis – the highest mountain in the British Isles peaks at 1,344m (4,409ft)
- Mount Everest – the highest mountain in the world peaks at 8,848m (29,029ft)
So, compared to Mt. Everest, Ben Ledi is a small little mound but having said that it is just a 116ft short of a Munro.
But irrespective of all this, the sights one gets from the top of Ben Ledi are truly breath-taking. One feels a bit closer to one’s Maker and at times you feel like you can put your hands up and touch the clouds.
As always, let the pictures speak for themselves.

Sitting on top of Ben Ledi, I could only imagine what it would be like to be on top of the world literally!! Maybe someday. Will be sure to record it here, so do keep your eyes open!! 🙂
Till next time, take care and gallop free.
